The runway is the final step in the airport modernization project which began when an AWOS was installed and a terminal building was constructed in 1995 and opened in 1997. The terminal building contains administrative offices, a passenger lounge, conference room, and pilots lounge. A maintenance hangar and new T-hangars were recently constructed. |

| The Indiana County Airport Authority has received approval and funding for the construction of a new runway. The new runway will measure 5500 X 100 feet (compared to the existing runway which is 4000 X 75 feet) and will enable the installation of a precision Instrument Landing System (ILS) and allow corporate aircraft the required landing distance for safety. The old runway will be used as a parallel taxiway. | |
