Plans For The Hangars
Additional Development Plans
The Airport Authority is considering ways to develop the existing businesses on the property as well as how to attract new ones. Some of the options include the following:
· Located on the property are several natural gas “hot spots” that have the potential of being a significant revenue source for the Jimmy Stewart Airport.
· The airport also has an area of land that is classified as a Keystone Opportunity Zone (KOZ), which increases the attractiveness of the airport to incoming businesses. A KOZ is a state designation which conveys a number of tax advantages to businesses located in the zone.
· The airport currently maintains several hangars. Ground space is currently available to build additional hangars on the property.
